I enjoy movies and tv- I have no problem going to a theater by myself or spending the day watching my favorite shows. It is an escape from everyday issues and cool to see science fiction or action tales brought to life with great storytelling and effects. Sometimes you can (or have to) turn your mind off and just appreciate the moment.
But then you read stuff like this, 6 Realities of Teleportation Star Trek Didn’t Warn Us About by Nathan R. Carlsen or 6 Horrible Aftermaths Implied By Movies with Happy Endings by Jacopo della Quercia and Chris Randomile , and it brings the reality of how improbable it would be to ______ (fill in the blank). The thing is, I also enjoy this kind of discussion because it is interesting for me to see, as Paul Harvey would have said,”The Rest of the Story”, or why something can’t be done- which might someday lead to someone figuring out how to overcome the impossibility of the feat (Ever notice how cell phones look so much like communicators?).
Didn’t know I would learn a little about engineering from this article: 6 Small Math Errors that Caused Huge Disasters by Chris Radomile. Guess those parts leftover when I put something back together are important after all…
I went to the Cracked site to find a humorous place to turn my mind off and enjoy the show but it is kinda informative and entertaining at the same time. Take a look for yourself, learn and chuckle.
