Sep 11, 2008- Long time, no update

Haven’t had much going on to write about until recently. Things are picking up at work now that we are getting ready to launch again. Fay caused us some minor water damage near the front door due to wind driven rain, but was able to repair it with help from a neighbor. Been away from the N3N during the summer because the kids were out of school, but was able to start helping again last week. The fuselage has been gone over and rework of the frame is almost complete. New sheetmetal is being installed replacing the 68 year old original sections.

The control surfaces have been reworked, covered with fabric, and are set aside until the wings are completed.

Yesterday I was drilling off the skin on the upper wing center section. Squirrels had made a nest in there over the years and it all needs to be replaced. The wing will be pressure washed, repaired and primed before fabric can be laid over it. Should be a fun couple of months!
