Aug 8, 2007- STS-118 support

I am on the RTLS (Return To Launch Site) convoy for this mission– in the unlikely event of a RTLS situation after launch, we will recover the vehicle and crew at the runway (hopefully) and secure the vehicle to a safe mode. For this mission I am PURGE 3, meaning I am on a team that will hook up and configure purge air to the vehicle after landing. The purge provides cold air to cool the avionics and maintain a comfortable working environment in the crew compartment. We hook up at the right T-0 panel while the COOL team mates to the left T-0 to supply freon cooling to the rest of the vehicle. I will take pictures and post them tonight or tomorrow. See you at the runway!
