Mar. 2, 2007- SCO Training

Got to support checkout of the docking system on the external airlock Wednesday as an SCO; remember this view? (Cue flashback dissolve- deedlee doop, deedlee doop, deedlee doop)

Here’s a view from the aft looking forward just before the last bay is closed out and final cleaning/payload bay door closure is performed for rollout:

Training is going well (when I can get it). We’re at a spike in Endeavour’s processing flow right now– at about the 3/4 mark, things start to come together and all shops get busy with system checkouts and closeouts. After 6 years, its nice to get to the end of the flow. We did a bunch of mods and inspections to the vehicle and now its time to fly again. Looks like we’ll be rolling out around Atlantis’ launch date in late April. Maybe they’ll light those big candles on my birthday– getting to the point where my birthday cake will have the same candlepower as a shuttle launch!

Watched “Scrubs” last night– best flashback episode I’ve seen in a long time.
