Dec. 6, 2006- STS-116 crew is here!

The crew arrived Sunday in their T-38 jets and will be preparing for Thursday’s launch

From left are Mission Specialist Joan Higginbotham; Pilot William Oefelein; Mission Specialists Robert Curbeam, Christer Fuglesang representing the European Space Agency, Nicholas Patrick, and Sunita Williams joining Expedition 14 in progress on the International Space Station; and Commander Mark Polansky. The commander and pilot will be practicing approaches to the runway for the next couple of days in a specially modified Gulfstream that can perform the same 20-degree glideslope approach as the real orbiter.
